It is easy to collect streaming subscriptions: a free trial here, a special offer there, a service signed up for one series and forgotten. Each renewal is small, but together they add up. This guide shows how to find every subscription you are paying for, cancel the ones you do not need and avoid surprise renewals in future.

Step 1: Find out where each subscription is billed

The place you cancel depends on where you subscribed:

Subscribed through Where to manage
Apple (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions
Google Play (Android, Google TV) Google Play › profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions
Amazon (Fire TV, Amazon account) Your Amazon account’s memberships and subscriptions page
Directly with the provider The provider’s website or app account settings
Through a TV, phone or broadband bundle Your bundle provider’s account

Cancelling inside the app itself does not always stop billing if you subscribed through an app store, and deleting the app never cancels a subscription.

Step 2: Check your statements

Look through the last two or three months of bank and card statements for recurring charges. Search your email for words like “receipt”, “subscription”, “renewal” and “trial”. This usually uncovers anything you have forgotten.

Step 3: Decide what to keep

For each subscription, ask:

  • Have I used it in the past month?
  • Is there something specific I want to watch soon?
  • Could I subscribe again later only when I need it?

Rotating services — keeping one or two at a time and switching as your interests change — is a common way to cut costs.

Step 4: Cancel correctly

  1. Cancel through the place it is billed (Step 1).
  2. Look for a confirmation screen or email, and keep it.
  3. Note the date access ends; many services let you keep watching until the end of the paid period.

Free trials

Free trials usually convert into paid subscriptions automatically. When you start a trial:

  • Set a reminder a few days before it ends.
  • Check whether cancelling during the trial ends access immediately or at the end of the trial.

Avoiding unwanted renewals in future

  • Keep a simple list of subscriptions, prices and renewal dates.
  • Set calendar reminders a week before each renewal.
  • Use your bank’s notifications for recurring payments.
  • Use virtual card numbers where your bank offers them; you can cancel a card number to stop a merchant charging it.
  • Prefer clear terms. Choose services that explain renewals and cancellation plainly. Recognising misleading subscription offers covers renewal traps.

Longer plans and renewals

If you prepay for several months or a year, note when that period ends and whether it renews automatically, and at what price. Monthly vs annual subscriptions helps you decide whether committing longer makes sense.

At IPTVNomad, plans are ordered for a fixed period — one, three, six or twelve months — through WhatsApp. If you have questions about how your plan ends or renews, ask us there.

If you are charged after cancelling

  1. Find your cancellation confirmation.
  2. Contact the provider or the platform that billed you.
  3. If unresolved, contact your bank or card issuer about disputing the charge. Paying for streaming subscriptions safely explains your options.

Family and shared accounts

Family sharing features can hide subscriptions under another family member’s account, and children can sometimes start subscriptions on shared devices. Review family purchase settings and require approval for purchases. Streaming for multiple users in a household covers shared setups.

Common questions

Does deleting an app cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting an app never cancels a subscription. You must cancel through the place it is billed — the provider, or Apple, Google or Amazon if you subscribed through their stores.

Can I pause instead of cancelling?

Some services offer a pause option for a limited time, which keeps your profile and preferences. Availability varies; look in the service’s account or subscription settings.

What if I cannot find where a charge comes from?

Check the merchant name on your statement, search your email for receipts and check Apple, Google and Amazon subscription lists. If you still cannot identify it, contact your bank. Paying for streaming subscriptions safely explains what to do next.

Summary

Find where each subscription is billed, cancel there and keep the confirmation. Then keep a simple list with renewal dates and reminders. Half an hour of auditing once or twice a year is usually enough to stop paying for services you no longer use.
